What do you classify as a dangerous/ violent sport? Many say that the sport of Airsoft/ wargame is violent, because you equip toy guns and shoot each other. In fact this sport is very safe, as long as you keep you mask on at all times.
But many adults and parents would disagree with me and say airsoft is a dangerous sport, then I ask you, why do you let your son/ daughter play rugby, karate, football, basketball? In fact you barely see anyone die or get injured from airsoft, but on the other hand, there are approximately 400,000 people who get injured alone in basketball.
So why do people still say that airsoft is a violent sport? Is it because parents think it is inhumane or inappropriate to shoot people? If that is the case, why don't you point that to war?
I can guarantee that there have been 0 incidents of people dying, or getting injured from playing airsoft on TV. But there have been many incidents from people getting injured, fighting, dying from football, basketball etc.
So what is your view on this? Do you still think that airsoft is more violent in-comparison to contact sports?
This blog is meant to be for my own interest. I am willing to share my work to all bloggers, and what I will be posting is just some of my school work or videos.
Welcome to my blog
Hi, welcome to my blog. My name is Fung and I am a secondary school student.
My interests are reading books, and playing outdoor sports. My most favoured sport is football, because it consists of communication and teamwork.
This blog is for saving my school work, and posting educational videos to help myself remember work I have done. Most of it will be written work, although I will post some videos.

Stillness Speaks - Eckhart Tolle
After reading the book 'Stillness Speaks' by Eckhart Tolle, I have been a much more happier person. What this book is all about, is how to become happy. And to appreciate the Now. And the Being of your time.
And in one part of this book, it says not to bring a unhappy mood to a class, to your work, to your friends and your surroundings. As it not only upsets you but also reflects to others around you in your environment and also makes them unhappy, or disappointed because of you.

Atoms, Molecules, Mixtures, Elements
Science for me, is the most challenging subject for me. But I find it an interesting subject.
Just recently, we have been studying about Atoms, Molecules, and Mixtures. In Science, the definitions of these words can be very different to what you find in a dictionary.
Atoms can also be represented as particles. So what is the use of 'atoms'/ 'particles'. Well, everything around you is made of atoms, including the air, your laptop, your house, your table. Its just that each atoms is in different forms:
Tables, computers, TV screens, objects that are hard, and don't move are all categorized as solids.
Things such as water, rain, tears etc, are all categorized as liquids, and they are obviously liquid.
And the last category is gas. Gas includes things such as spraying mosquito repellant, LPG, air etc.
Moving on . . . Elements, so what are elements? Elements are is a combination of more than 1 atom of the same kind added together. For example, a sulphur atom + another sulphur atom --> S8 (We use Chemical equations to represent the formula) and when there is more than 1 formula it is called formulae. Also a observation that you may, or may not have picked up is that Science is different from Mathematics, in Scientific equations, we don't use the = sign, instead we use -->. And in this equation Sulphur + sulphur --> S8. The words highlighted in red represent the reactants of this equation (meaning what elements/ atoms are being combined together). And the word highlighted in blue is the product (meaning what is produced or what is the outcome). In all types of equations, the reactants are on the left, and the products are on the right hand side.
A thing you may want to keep in mind. Don't think that there is only 1 type of atom (sulphur), in fact, there are N numbers of different atoms, but it is just that scientists today have only found 114 of them. How I found out how many different types of atoms there are is simply by searching Periodic Table in Google. And you will found out how many there are. Each atom has its own symbol, and its own atomic numeral. It is arranged by amount of mass from lightest - heaviest.
Now that you know there are 114 atoms that we know, you can now play around with some of the atoms. For example, there can be Oxygen (O) + Hydrogen (H) which is represented as H+O --> H20 which is known as the water molecule. And when 2 different atoms are combined together they form a compound. (A compound is when 2 different atoms are mixed together). But there are some atoms when you combine them together have a special name. E.g. Sodium (Na) + Chlorine (Cl) Na + Cl --> NaCl, which is Sodium Chloride. (It does not equal to Sodium Chlorine) it has to be represented as Sodium Chloride or, NaCl.
Another example is Bromine or Iodine.
E.g. Magnesium (Mg) + Bromine (Br) Mg + Br --> MgBr which is Magnesium Bromide
Another example is B + I --> BI Boron Iodide.
But be aware, that only 3 of the elements when formed to be a compound can be named -dide. And those are Chlorine, Bromine and Iodine.
Getting into more detail, there are also some other things called mixtures, which are more than 2 different substances combined together which form a product.

Ancient Greek - (Greek Mythology)
As you know, in Humanities we have recently been studying the topic Ancient Greek. And a subject that we spent a long time discussing and debating about was Greek Mythology. - And how the Greek population/ citizens believed and worshipped multiple Gods.
But before knowing about Greek Mythology you have to know a little about the history of Ancient Greece and the different city-states and different citizens:
According to research from now, it is said that Greek had many different city-states (nowadays, we call this different states), and 2 main city-states in Greece were Athens and Sparta. Athens was a place of wealth. A community that was very rich, powerful and wealthy. They had speciality in many different areas consisting of; architecture, art, drama, literature, philosophy, medicine, politics and science. The food that was served were mostly consisted of luxuries.
- In Athens there were 3 different types of people.
There were the Citizens, who were the people born in Athens and only consisted of men (as in the old times only men had political power.)
Metics were people who were born outside of Athens, were free people but had to pay taxes, and could not own any land in Athens.
And last but not least the Slaves. The Slaves were people who were the captured people from war. The population of the Metics and Slaves put together made up half the Athenian society.
In Sparta, there are also 3 different types of people.
Equals - They were the people who controlled Sparta.
Half citizens - free people, but had to pay taxes. They served in the army, but had no political power at all.
And the Helots. - The Helots are same as slaves, but just called differently in Sparta. And they had no rights at all.
Sparta was a very small populated city-state. And most of the men who were born in Sparta were sent to Military barracks at the age of 7, as they needed to be well-prepared for war at anytime, anywhere.
Despite the differences between both city-states. They all were entailed to believe and worship Gods. The commonly known God in all of Greece was Zeus, (God of all Gods). And every God lived in a mountain by the name of Mt. Olympus. And any citizen who dared to visit the Mt. Olympus was never to be found again. And that made citizens of Athens and Sparta, to Macedonia, and the whole entire Greece believe in Gods.
Here is a video regarding the God Zeus :
The video explains how Zeus grew up, and became the "leader" of all the other Gods, and the challenges he had to over come.

Extreme Sports
Today in English class, we started a new topic about extreme sports. According to my teacher extreme sports is sports such as: Surfing, mountain biking, snow boarding, skate boarding, kayaking, parkour etc.
One question asked to the whole class was what sports do you like? For me, I love sports, and I can play anything. In primary school I used to always be on the school team. No matter from Football, tag-rugby, hockey, basketball, running etc. So to me it varies.
And another question was, what makes extreme sports 'extreme'. Well, extreme sports already gives itself its name. In many of the sports that are so called 'extreme' is because its man vs. nature. And the consequences are bound to happen, but its because the person thinks nothing will happen. Another reason why people love to do 'extreme' sports is because it gives them an adrenaline rush to put their own lives at stake.
What about you, what sports do you like?
